Customer Rating: Summary: Reading by the light... Comment: I like Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Their first CD (CHRISTMAS EVE AND OTHER STORIES) is easily one of my top ten favorite Christmas albums. (Maybe even top five.) Two years ago, my wife and I had the pleasure of seeing them in a sold-out concert performance in Houston. And I hope they continue to make great Christmas music in the future, although I've heard that LOST CHRISTMAS EVE will be their final venture into the Christmas music arena.
LOST CHRISTMAS EVE will not disappoint anyone who loves hard rock instrumental. It will, in fact, disappoint only a few Christmas music enthusiasts who enjoy a wide variety of Christmas music; and anyone who does is probably already a TSO fan to some degree. LCE has some true power-house songs such as "Christmas Jam," "Wish Liszt," "Back to a Reason, Part II," and "What Child is This?" which contains the phrase which inspires the title (Reading by the light of a lost Christmas Eve).
This CD is loaded with fun and delight. The only things that it really lacks is a taste of the familiar (that is, more familiar renditions of carols) as well as a few more songs to slow things down a bit. It has a few mellow ones but it could use a few more.
Overall, I'd say it's a lot better than the second CD, but not nearly as good as the first. And I don't mind saying, I hope there will be a fourth. (I would love to see a TSO treatment of "Little Drummer Boy" and several others.)
Customer Rating: Summary: The Lost Christmas Eve-C.D. ! Comment: This Is A Totally Awesome CD ! This CD Is Worth The Price Just For The Song " Christmas Canon Rock " ! I Just Got The CD And I Haven't Heard A Bad Track Yet-Only Great Tracks So Far !
Customer Rating: Summary: All good stuff for Christmas, but a bit samey Comment: The Trans Siberian Orchestra have become a Christmas Tradition themselves, providing a welcome alternative to the typical seasonal diet of organ music, choirs and crooners.
Their latest offering is typical of their mix of skilful guitar, blues and classical music.
This mix has been tried by other bands but none have delivered the panache and sheer musicianship of TSO.
However, the lost Christmas Eve has not innovated enough and the formula is feeling a little worn out. Some tracks are even taken from previous albums.
It is still worth buying and if you have never listened to the Trans Siberian Orchestra, I suggest you do.
And on Christmas Day, put this album on the stereo in the background. It'll drive the grandparents nuts.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not for everyone ... but it should be! Comment: The music on this CD is superb. I will now buy the trilogy of which this is the third CD. It is very good rock!!!
The band played on and on,
With no one looking at their watch,
And just when you thought it couldn't get any better,
They would turn it up a notch.
Customer Rating: Summary: The best of Christmas Comment: TSO is the best Christmas concert ever! If you can't be there, you must get the CD.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) is back with third and final volume of their Christmas trilogy, The Lost Christmas. The long awaited follow up to the double platinum "The Christmas Attic," features their trademark symphonic rock," which fuses elements of hard rock, Broadway, R&B, and classical music into a unique and distinctive blend of original compositions, symphony excerpts and holiday standards.
