Customer Rating: Summary: Willy Wonka Soundtrack Comment: The original soundtrack was exactly the music I was looking for. Great price and super quick delivery.
Customer Rating: Summary: Being a kid again! Comment: I have loved this movie for many years and so have all of my children from ages of 23 down to 4...They love it too. The classics are far better than the new stuff today. I always make sure my children listen to the music as well.
Customer Rating: Summary: Come and see..., and you'll be..., in a world of pure imagination. Comment: What a great movie and what a great soundtrack. Being a child of the 70's (on the verge of 40) I remember getting so excited when Willy Wonka would come on network television (we only had three networks back then).
Although you may have seen the movie, the soundtrack can carry you even further away. Songs like "Golden Ticket", "Pure Imagination" and the "Oompa Loompa Song" never fail to raise the hairs on the back of my neck.
Share this CD with your kids, then when they go to sleep give yourself a treat by listening to it on your own.
Cheers!

Originally released in 1971, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory was an imaginative film that drew as much inspiration from the leftover vibes (and drugs) of the psychedelic '60s as it did from Roald Dahl's fanciful children's book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. If you doubt it, check out this special 25th anniversary edition of the original soundtrack album, which features lyrics and music by Anthony Newley, who was a major influence on David Bowie and whose work on this film has clearly inspired '90s rockers from Veruca Salt (who took their name from the spoiled rich girl) to the Butthole Surfers (who could easily cover the sinister, trippy "Wondrous Boat Ride". C'mon, everybody, let's sing: "Oompa loompa/Doomp-ity-do/I've got another lesson for you...." --Jim Derogatis
