Winds: New Album Will Feature Guest Appearances

The founder and keyboardist of Winds, Andy Winter, has posted the following message on the band's website: “Earlier this year, more specifically in May, I reconfirmed on the WINDS forum after much speculation to the contrary, that we would not have any guests appearing on the new WINDS record. At the time I made this statement, it was correct. However, I have to say now, 4 months later, that this is no longer the case. A lot can change in 4-5 months time, and we honestly had no plans to feature guests on the new records until we realized how diverse the new material was becoming, and so we felt it was suitable to add some new elements to the sound to compliment this diversity. I can therefore confirm that we will indeed have several guest appearances on the new Winds record, and although it’s too soon to say anything more about who they are at the moment, I think everyone will be quite surprised to learn about it when the time comes. In the past we have been very selective about who we have invited to be guests on Winds records, in fact, on our last three records combined there has only been one guest, and that was the man behind the spoken voice on the first two albums known only as Drajevolitch. So our new guests will become members of a very exclusive club, so to speak. I also want to add that we would not have invited guests unless we felt they had something very special to contribute to our music, and we would never have invited guests for the purpose of marketing ploys or to add more famous names to the record or anything like that. The decision is purely artistic, and I think the end result will justify our change of heart in this matter beyond any doubt.”

New Machine Head, Moonspell and Dark Tranquillity Albums Announced

All those high-profile bands have recently announced that they will be recording new albums soon. Here are the official comments: MACHINE HEAD: "We're also now officially in "writing mode" for the next album! We've been at it for a few weeks now, and just last practice I had "that" feeling again about some of the stuff we're working on! Writing new stuff is weird, you go through days that are just kinda 'blah', and then there are days where some things just come together and you really start to see where they are going. We were playing this one part the other day and Robb started singing (growling!) over it and holy shit, I can tell you already that it is gonna be SICK! Into Eternity Prepare For Opeth Tour

The Into Eternity frontman Tim Roth has posted the following message online: "Hello Everyone! It has been an amazing month for INTO ETERNITY. We have just landed the opening slot on the Eastern USA , Opeth/Nevermore Tour! This whole year for us just keeps getting better and better.The whole band is very thankful for this huge opportunity. The last time we got to tour with Nevermore was way back in 2001. The band was still young, but Nevermore treated us like brothers. That is something I will never forget. The last time we saw them was in Italy at The Gods of Metal. All the guys are fans of Opeth as well and we can't wait to get on the road with these talented bands. There will be a high level of musicianship, so hopefully we can learn off of these amazing players! Danzig Announce New Guitarist

Glenn Danzig announces that Joe Fraulob, guitarist for the Sacramento-based band Deconstruct, has joined the Danzig lineup for their next tour. "Joe really wanted to play with us, so he came to L.A. and auditioned", said Glenn Danzig. "He knew every song, knew all the leads note for note, he knew songs we didn¹t even tell him to learn. This guy is really, really good, he sounds incredible, and the fans are going to be blown away by him." Danzig's performance on all dates of the "Blackest of the Black" tour will feature former Misfits' guitarist Doyle Von Frankenstein for a special 30-minute set of Misfits classics. Doyle joined Danzig on a handful of tour dates last winter (New York, Philadelphia, Boston) for "the closest thing to a Misfits reunion you're going to see."

Crisis Bassist Leaves Band

This was posted at the official Crisis website: "Crisis regrets to announce the departure of Gia Wang, our bass player for the last 12 years. Due to family commitments Gia will be unable to continue to be a part of the Crisis collective. The band wishes Gia well in all his future endeavors. Nick Weitzel, a friend of the band, will be filling in on bass guitar for the Exodus tour. Crisis will hold auditions for a permanent bass player position starting in November. We are looking for an aggressive player who can perform with a live intensity as well as be a creative force in our improvisational style of songwriting. Dimmu Borgir: No More Live Performances In 2005

Those sad news were posted on Dimmu Borgir's official website: "Short news bulletin from the Dimmu camp, Silenoz told me that "Stormblåst 2005" have street date November 7, 2005, the new CD vil contain shitload of extras for the price of a regular CD. They are also planning to record a video from the Stormblast 2005 release toghether with Patrick Ullaeus and Revolver Film Comp. Shagrath is busy working on his band Chrome Division together with Lex Icon of Covenant, Luna of Ashes To Ashes, Eddie Guz of The Carburetors, and Ricky Black. They are currently working and recording material for their debut album. Their new website will be up and running shortly with more info on the band. Silenoz is working on his project Insidious Disease and demo will be ready shortly. They have 12-13 songs ready and they will put up a strong demo just in case a record company should give dem an offer. There will be no live performances for the rest of the year after Dimmu Borgir turned down the offer on going on tour with Korn in Scandinavia. Dimmu Borgir hope start working on the new album in October 2005."
