Virgin Black Still Recording New Album

The Australian gothic band Virgin Black has issued the following update regarding their work on new song material:

“Virgin Black are set to amaze us yet again with the promise of an extraordinary next release. The largest piece of the puzzle to be unearthed thus far is the revelation that they have just finished recording with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, featuring principal violinist Michael Milton and conducted by the A.S.O.'s Bruce Stewart. The sessions were recorded in the lush environment of Adelaide's Grainger Studios with composers Samantha Escarbe and Rowan London said to be overwhelmed by the experience of having ‘notes that were paper-bound, leaping off the page.’ Word is that it should see the light of day early next year.”

Eyes Of Fire - Explain Cancelled Dates

The following message was posted on the official website of the Californian band Eyes Of Fire:

"Eyes Of Fire would like to apologize to the people of Houston, Oklahoma City, and Denver for the cancellation of the shows in those towns. Incase you were not aware, Jake Daniels (singer for Manntis) came down with a bad case of strept throat. He attempted to do a complete set at the San Antonio show but was only able to perform 4 songs at which time they (Manntis) decided to pull off the tour and head home to nurse their wounds. The Los Angeles show at this time is still happening and should be quite festive. Eyes Of Fire attempted to play the show in Houston as it was known there were going to be some people there to witness an Eyes Of Fire set. When the band contacted the club the day of the show the promoter advised Eyes Of Fire that the power was shut off at the venue for some unknown reason and that the power company was on their way out to alleviate the problem but did not have a time table for it to be solved, so the promoter decided to cancel the entire show. Eyes Of Fire will make these shows up somehow someway. Please understand their situation."

Kataklysm - Vote For The Band's New Album Artwork

This has been postet at Kataklysm's official homepage:

"Hello everyone!

As many of you know, the contest for the artwork is done. KATAKLYSM and our record label Nuclear Blast have looked at every single one (hundreds!) over the last 4 weeks and couldnt really come up with a decision together, so we decided to let you guys decide our next album's artwork!... We brought it down to the last 5 artworks that hit a nerve with us the most.

This is how it will work; NUCLEAR BLAST will have the 5 finalists' designs on their website at and all you have to do is click on the contest link and vote!!! The voting will run for 1 week and will end on September 9. We will then announce the winner shortly afterwards.

All the runner ups will not leave empty handed, as KATAKLYSM will give all 5 finalists a pair of guest list passes to any KATAKLYSM concert, any time any place!!

The winner will have his or her artwork on the next KATAKLYSM album "In the Arms of Devastation", on merchanside and posters, and will also have the whole line of products which the art will be displayed on. And of course, the good part - the winner will also receive 500$!... You didn't think we would take advantage of anyone did you? Now at least, we know all the artworks sent was from the heart, not for the cash.

So go and vote!
