So here are the names of the songs (in no spesific order):

Bitter Metallic Side
Defeat
The Groan of Wind
One from the Stands
The Black Waltz
With Terminal Intensity
To the Gallows
Time Takes Us All
Mindrust
Man of the King

+cover

Tomorrow we have a gig at Räntämetalli and we are going to play Bitter Metallic Side from the new album.
Defleshed: Call It Quits

The band Defleshed has left the following message on their official website:

"Fellow comrades,

with a schizophrenic mixture of grief and relief we hereby announce our departure from all Defleshed-activities. Activities that has become more of obligations with the years, which has driven us individually to become more ambitions or less. We are in no way splitting up as unfriends, if anything reversed, and we'll thank you all for your the support through the years in the only way we know how to: a farewell to the flesh gig at Fellini, Uppsala, Sweden the 25th of December (see www.fellini.nu) This night we'll do anything in our power to BLAST YOUR FUCKING FLESH OFF !!!

However, since we've never been to the States (which is an old dream of ours), we'll still try to nail that Dismember tour in April, but this is up to our US label & co.

Hope you understand our wish not to become tired, blood-drain has-beens but to end this while we're still potent.

We will still go on with metal in diverse bands and future projects of course, of which I'm sure you will hear of in a near future, but as for Defleshed we've simply feel the last chapter has been written. After all, you don't stop playing 'cause your getting old - you get old 'cause you stop playing. Be well and thanks for your attention in our band."

Dissection Bassist Leaves The Band

Dissection have posted the following message on their official website:

"As a result of bassist Haakon Forwald's family situation back home in Norway and his initiatory work with the Norwegian cell division of the Misanthropic Luciferian Order (MLO) it has been decided that Forwald will step back from the position as Dissection's bass player in order to focus on his esoteric and exoteric work in Norway. Dissection wish Forwald the best of luck on the path to anti-cosmic gnosis and thank him for his time with the band.

This will not affect the two upcoming shows in Sweden and Germany booked for December and January where Dissection for the last time ever will perform a set based solely on the old albums!

Bass player candidates already exist and are currently being tried out in rehearsals!"

The Black Dahlia Murder: Search For New Drummer

The following was posted on the official website of The Black Dahlia Murder:

"As many of you may already know we are currently in search of a drummer. For all of those interested in trying out it is important to follow the next steps exactly. Make a recording of yourself playing "FLIES" along to a metronome. We are not at all interested in hearing personal interpretations, we simply want to hear whether or not you can play hit for hit what is heard on our CD. WE DONT CARE IF YOU CAN PLAY SONGS OFF OF UNHALLOWED, we are only interested in talking to people who can follow the directions given. Once you've made this recording you can contact us either through our myspace or by emailing blackdahliamurder@hotmail.com."

Strapping Young Lad Check In From Virginia

Strapping Young Lad drummer Gene Holgan has posted the following message on their official website:

"So, last night, we're at the Norva, in Norfolk, Va. It's one of the nicer clubs in North America, with real friendly people, a HUGE greenroom with loads of cool amenities, and a JACUZZI in the headliners' dressing room. Wow! Now that jacuzzi, while cool in theory, is something you'd never see ol' Gene jumpin' into. Bathing in countless other bands' 'egg-drop soup'. Wicked. Sign me up. Maybe set that thing on fire 2 or 3 times, then I might consider it...

But, the day was great, the show was killer, and everybody was rockin'. Sat in for Raymond again for soundcheck, played "Replica" a little better this time. And a piece of "540 BillionTrillion Degrees". I was ready to slaughter some "Self-Bias...", but I guess that was enough. Later on, after SYL played, I got to watch the Cowboys' rollicking come-from-behind win over the Eagles. Fuck the Eagles. And the Giants and 'Skins as well. It's about time WE had a come-from-behind win this season. Seeing how it's happened to us twice now. And NOBODY foresaw T.O., the "Franchise Destroyer", showing his true colors this season, yeah, right. I LOOOVED it when the Eagles picked him up last season, cuz it was a no-brainer that he was gonna bring that strong team dowwwwn...

I've been gettin' to know all the Soilwork dudes the past couple shows, very cool dudes indeed! I'm diggin' them and their crew. Watchin' Dierk, their drummer, doin' his pre-show rudiments is pretty damn cool, and shows me how woefully behind as a drummer I am. That's one thing I like about the new breed of thrash metal musicians. In today's world, you gotta have your chops together. Back when I was starting oot, there were literally a handful of drummers who could string two sentences together, let alone play thrash in any sort of cohesive style. It was mostly a guitar-driven genre. Nowaday's with all the BADASSES out there, if you're not one of 'em, you're sunk. Drums have taken over as the 'featured instrumentalist' in thrash. I've toured with and seen so many amazing drummers this year, it is truly inspiring.

Tonight brings us to the Masquerade in Atlanta. This crazy goth club in the 'hood, owned up 'til recently by the IMPOTENT SEA SNAKES. It's a pretty decrepit building, but with tons of character. It's always a venue ya look forward to playing. STRAPPING has had some very memorable shows here, and I'm sure tonight will be one of 'em.

Well, I know I said the other day that I was done writing these blogs for awhile, that was before I remembered that the whole reason I'm writing these is to combat boredom. And fuck, it can get boring on the road. Especially since I gave up having fun. But, as I type, Byron's super-duper, tricked-out, ultra-chipped XBox is getting tons of new stuff dumped onto it over on the other bus. YAY! "Burnout: Revenge" bus parties here we come! Fuck, we're dorks.

Oh yeah, a couple of guys have asked me aboot the cheesesteak-eating contest. Well, it didn't happen. Thankfully! But we had sort of a pre-dawn cheesesteak contest of our own. Damn, "Pat's" was PACKED at 4am, when I ran over there. The line at "Gino's" was a little shorter, but, I had "Gino's" last time I was in Philly, so "Pat's" it was. Well-worth it, too. "Pat's" is way better. But , that's like saying "Alpo is better than Mighty Dog". When it comes to cheesesteaks, yuh just cain't polish a turd.

Cool! Bobby Koeble from Death just called me! Gonna see him tomorrow, righteous.

Wow, our tourbus smells really bad. Like butt, feet and salami. Had all that on a pizza once, didn't care for it.

Alright people, have fun! Jedly's blog is on the way..."

Cradle Of Filth Studio Update

The following message was posted by Cradle Of Filth frontman Dani Filth on their official website:

"Dear all,

Excuse the following exercise in bad grammar, doctrinal expletives and general< buffoonery but i am writing this report from 'The Chapel' studios here in deepest, darkest rural Lincolnshire following a night out at the local pub (the only means of entertainment in the entire region) and a fall into a deep ditch full of water, having partially succeeded in rescuing a drowning football. Suffice to say i awoke this morning having half-laughed myself to death watching the two pseudo-documentaries on our soon-to-released new DVD to find my shoes caked in mud and my pants on the wrong way around (but that's entirely another story).

So far so good in respect to the new album, the producer Rob Caggianno having successfully crossed the Atlantic on what must be his fourth attempt in under a week and the band having been nicely tucked away in their respectful bedrooms, where i would indeed be now if it weren't for the fact that Rob has chosen to put the bass cabs directly beneath me in an attempt to shake all the teeth out of my head.

Incidentally Rob has been rather ill for the last four months with a stomach parasite he ingested from some dodgy food he ate in Mexico. No, the food didn't have Anthrax, but it did have something in it that causes Rob to have to take fifteen different homeopathic tablets three times daily. He actually showed us a picture of the horror he ate as taken by Scott Ian, who apparently warned him not to eat what looks like a meat 'Millenium Falcon'. In actual fact it was a skinned raw Goat's face complete with sagging eyeballs, but to a pissed-up Rob it looked like heaven.

You can see more of Rob in this state on our forthcoming DVD. He is also available for weddings and Bar Mitzvahs.

On the studio front there's not a great deal to report other than Paul's face has instantly begun to melt, sitting in front of his 50 inch computer screen (you know what they say about big screens don't you...), rehearsing the tracks and smoking the herb as if his facial elasticity depended on it. Charles is his accomplice in the rehearsal side of things although he prefers a box of nineteenth century nasal snuff to weed and a lengthy piss up at the pub with me and various sheep farmers. Adrian and Dave are busy recording drums and bass whilst i wile away the first few days amending the latest chapter to 'The Gospel Of Filth' and writing this pile of old baloney.

Incidentally the book is still progressing nicely although as you can imagine the whole process is a lengthy one what with the constant migration of ideas between conspirators and the amount of research that has gone into it's construction, although author Gavin Badderley has promised to deliver it early next year. Still, the wait will be worth it i can promise you, the chapter i have just finished proof reading on (to tie in with the chapter headed "Cruelty And The Beast") is extremely cantankerous, tracing the history of serial murder from Medieval attributions to werewolves through to modern day vampire-killers and cannibals. This chapter also features an alternative narrative on the Norwegian Black Metal murders of the mid-nineties as well as quotes and useful insights by everyone from Mushroomhead to Emperor to Charlie Manson. The next time i put poisoned ink to paper i will include a preview of one of the more juicier parts of the text for your delectation and much-sought after approval. But only if you're good girls and boys...

Never before in the history of this band have we been so ready for an album prior to going in. All of the songs have been rehearsed and demoed relentlessly, Paul is actually going over one even as we speak, over and over again to the point where i wish i'd never been born with ears. Like a bat. Still, in my sensory radar is the smell of dinner being slowly cooked, which is one great benefit of being cooped up in a residential studio. The food! By the time i go to India at the end of the year i will doubtless be about the size of a balloon with a face like Vince Neil back on the booze. To be fair though, everyone is making an effort to stay a little in shape this time around, even to the point of an early morning jog. And Dave has upped wanking himself off to five times a day AND with the other hand! Apparently. The threat of an upcoming UK tour will do that to a man you know.

On the tour front the tickets sales are going so well we subsequently decided to add in a warm-up show in sunny Colchester the day prior to Southampton. Tickets for this are scant and going fast so you'd better grab them quick if you wish to see us at our musical and possible physical worse (five weeks worth of studio banquets later... ).

Anyway, that seems to be all for now, i promise to keep you updated on a regular basis although as of next week i will be starting vocal duties concurrently in studio two. This is so i'm not left to the last minute with a stomach full of flutterbies.

We are also doing several covers during this recording period and if someone out there can guess what they are, then a signed photo of Charles wearing our new girlie knicker and bra set shall be yours. You lucky fuckers! Till next i befoul the air with my presence.... hope you all had a happy halloween! With love,

Count Filth."

Voivod's drummer Away has issued the following update to fans regarding their upcoming album and other projects for 2006:

“Dear Voivodians,

"We will do our best to make a great record that Piggy would be proud of as we worked very hard for the past two years on the new songs. Jasonic has already put down his bass tracks and Glen Robinson and I will edit Piggy's guitar tracks in December. We will track my drum parts and Snake's vocals in Montreal in January. Then we'll mix it, get it mastered and released as soon as possible via The End records in USA, Nuclear Blast in Europe and Hypnotic-Linus/Universal in Canada."

"In other news, I am still working on my long overdue art book, coming out on Troubleman Unlimited in 2006. Also coming out next year, DVOD-2, our second DVD which will be covering the 90's line-up with Eric Forrest. Thanks for your patience!"

Away

"P.S. If you get a chance to see the movie "Metal: A Headbanger's History" it is great and has a short interview with Piggy in it. We saw the Montreal premiere a few weeks ago at the invitation of Sam and Scott the filmmakers and they introduced the movie by dedicating it to Piggy, which was very cool of them.”

Interview With Paradise Lost Guitarrist

Gregor Mackintosh from Paradise Lost recently spoke to Metal Temple magazine’s Chris Downie about various interesting issues. Here are a few excerpts from the interview:

"- Metal Temple: Many long-time fans felt that the decision to move to major label EMI in 1998 was a bad one. Without wanting to start a debate on the merits of major labels, what do you think the band have learned from the overall experience?

- Mackintosh: "[Laughs] Of course it was a mistake, but it’s a mistake that no bands ever learn from. Before we signed to EMI, we used to say ’better a big fish in a small pond’ and then we went and followed suit. Majors tell you what you want to hear, but bail when the going gets tough."

- Metal Temple: In comparison, the band’s profile in the UK has dropped, despite the continued loyalty of a small hardcore fanbase. Is this still a source of frustration for you?

- Mackintosh: "It’s not the fans’ fault. I think it’s more of a media thing. There are a handful of press people in the UK, deciding what everybody should and shouldn’t like. At least in the USA, there are numerous and very varied college radio stations which are a good source for reasonably unbiased views. In most of the rest of the world, there seems to be a decent enough magazine and press network that aren’t all controlled by the same people and have enough of a sales base to make a difference."

- Metal Temple: Having signed a new distribution deal with Century Media Records, which covers the UK and US, do you have any plans to build on the success of the last US tour with Opeth and perhaps return there soon?

- Mackintosh: "I can’t wait. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour with Opeth and we have some great fans over there. From what I hear, we are already looking at a couple of tours of the US early next year."

You can find the entire interview here.

Frontman Thomas Youngblood of Kamelot has posted the following message on the band's official website:

"Hello All!

Today we begin the rehearsals for the second round of tour dates for The Black Halo. New keyboardist Oliver arrives tonight in Tampa and we will have Khan here on next week. We will add some new songs that we did not play on the last tour dates in Europe. So fans in Belgium and Holland will see a new set! I also hope to get some new pictures taken while Oliver is. The US/Canadian shows are looking more and more exciting, I have been talking with Jack Frost (Seven Witches) about it and we are going to have a monster time on stage and with all the fans! The dates in Brazil are now set for Sao Paulo and Rio and we will be shooting lots of footage for the upcoming DVD slated for Summer 2006. All the shows on this second tour will hopefully be part of the DVD and we are planning some very special surprises with this production. Norwegian Fans! We are finally coming to see you! I guess we can try some skiing this time in Trysil? Holland and Belgium will rule too, Graspop was amazing. Our friends Epica will play the Antwerp show with us. We are waiting on details regarding the French gigs in Paris and Lyon, I hope to have some news from our management this weekend on that.

We are expecting new dates planned for the Summer festivals as well. OK, got to go, lots to do! I hope to see all of you at the shows!"

Brick Bath have posted the following message on their official website:

"Hey everybody we figured it was time to let you know what's going on...

Due to being stiffed by more than a few promoters and lack of support from our record label (not to mention the hurricanes and soaring gas prices), the band had no other options then to cancel the rest of our tour dates for the remainder of 2005.

We have been out on the road for three and a half months straight and covered a lot of territory in the US. Many of the shows were great and all our new friends and fans that came out to the shows all over the US were even greater. Thanks so much for your love and continued support.

It was our plan once the American Currency CD was released (which ended up having four different release dates) that Brick Bath would stay out on the road consistently for at least a year or more. Going back to the same cities as well as new ones every couple of months to build our following. Believe us…we did everything we could not to have to come back home. That was the last thing we wanted to do!

As many of you know, two of the Brick Bath band members parents passed away just days before the bands US tour started and we had to take care of our own personal situations just prior to leaving. Knowing we were going to be on tour for at least a year solid, we put all our personal belongings into storage and quit our jobs in order to do this full time.

Our label has done very little to promote this album or help us at all. Many promises were made and broken with little to no communication with the label for weeks on end. We had to buy our own CDs back from the label in order to have product to sell on the road. Our manager even had to buy our CDs at retail price in the stores just so he could have product to mail out to magazines and for other business dealings. We had no tour support and paid for the recording of the album out of our own pockets.

Brick Bath has decided to go back to the drawing board and run the machine ourselves again for a while. We have all gotten day jobs again and will save our money in order to get out of debt from the last tour so we can go back out on the road again early next year and hope to see everyone again. We will not give up and we’ll never die. We will however start working on new material for the next CD over the holidays and start searching for a new label that is interested in having a hard working band on their roster.

As always, we will be happy to talk to all of you on our MySpace page as well as our Brick Bath website forum.

See you all soon…"
